Thank you to all the volunteers that helped yesterday with our 12th Annual Venice Triathlon-you guys are the best.

One of the most common excuses for not exercising is “I just don’t have time right now.” Well, today you need to make time. Maybe if you can make it work today, you can make it work three to five days per week.

As a way to help you make time, here are several examples of how you can combine two activities-including your exercise-into one.

-Step up and down on the first stair of your staircase while you watch your kids play outside or while you watch TV.

-Ride a stationary bike or use an elliptical machine while you read.

-March in place, jog, jump rope, walk on a treadmill, ride a stationary bike , or use an elliptical machine while you watch TV.

-While your kids swim in the pool, walk or jog laps around the pool (or a nearby area) while keeping an eye on the kids at the same time.

-Walk or jog laps around your backyard while your kids play outside.

-While your kids play at the park, walk or jog laps around the playground.
